About the project

NFAA

Not Far At All is all about adventure!

Through stories, photographs, films and maps, we share our outdoor experiences and what we’ve discovered along the way. We also provide practical details to help you understand what to expect and prepare for unfamiliar places and challenges.

Two worlds collided

The boss

Joanna

When I was a teenager, the nearby Beskid Mountains were my outdoor playground. Easy hikes gradually led to longer and more demanding trips. During my university years, winter trekking and camping became a regular part of my life. Then I got hooked on rock climbing, developed my rope skills and moved on to mountaineering in the high mountains. Later, I worked as a glacier guide.

Along the way, solo long-term travel took me hitchhiking across Australia and backpacking through Southeast Asia. I also lived in New Zealand for nearly seven beautiful years, exploring the country!

The best travel mate

Rafał

Rafał feels at home on a yacht, whether sailing on inland waters or at sea, from the North Sea to the Mediterranean. Motorcycling is another of his passions, and his enthusiasm got me riding motorcycles too.

He already loved mountains and travel. All he needed was a spark of inspiration to venture beyond established trails. Since we began travelling together, his adventures have expanded to include climbing, mountaineering, snowshoeing, winter camping, nights around a campfire and longer independent expeditions.

Journeys, as they happen

Our adventures range from day hikes and bike rides to climbing weekends, multi-day kayaking trips, week-long treks and longer, self-organised expeditions.

We believe that travelling is the best way to appreciate the world around us and the everyday comforts we often take for granted.

From the journey to the stage

We share our travels through talks at cultural centres and travel festivals. I speak about New Zealand, where I lived for nearly seven years. Together, we share stories from our recent expeditions.

Give your stories a home

I’m a traveller too, so I know how much these stories matter and enjoy helping you find the right way to share them through a website built with care and passion.
